I painted over some old paintings in the studio recently. After painting figuratively for a few months I have discovered a new style which I intend to pursue in my abstract work. It has definitely opened my eyes to interesting combination of colours and layers which has added a new depth to my work.

New Work! at last--- January 2014
I have had a bit of a gap from painting but I now have a studio in Brighton and expanding my practise. Here is one of my first pieces at the new studio. 'Decaying Pear and Dried Roses'- The composition is exactly what the title says, the back drop is a bin bag and the light source is from my iPhone. I am interested in making the undesirable more desirable, using rotting, and dried things with cold artificial light and trying to paint them to look as grand and beautiful as a Dutch master would make a bowl of delicious ripe fruit. The painting is more graphically painted where the light has immediately hit the subject, almost undetectable. There are lots of places to take my work, which I am very excited about.

Two new additions
I have two new paintings ready for bubble wrapping and carting off to hopefully be included for the affordable art fair. Not sure which paintings will be up but its been good to be back painting. With these new pieces I'm looking towards changing colours and composition. I want them to look less sea creature and more theatrical explosion!

Commisioned paintings jan/feb 2010- Santuary Bar and Restaurant
I was commissioned to paint five paintings for 'Santuary Bar and Restaurant' about to open in Basingstoke. They are all painted as a continuation from my degree work, taking into consideration the style and theme of the bar. They are all painted in oil paint and lukas medium 4.
The painting below was the final painting in the series of five. I had got back into the flow of painting and this canvas incidently became abit of an experiment, naturally wanting to progress and change ideas around. The colours and shapes are more extreme, more unnatural and contrasting. This new direction is something i wish to explore in my future painting, to see where it takes my work.
